Dallas, Texas..what an awesome Hometown. There are a lot of things people don’t know about Dallas that I do and many things people think they know about Dallas they really don’t know because they are not from Dallas. My mission is to provide you with a look at Dallas only a native Dallasite can offer.
Half a Century
It has only taken me a half century to learn what I know about Dallas and the surrounding area commonly known as DFW Metroplex. Fortunately, what I didn’t learn from running the streets of Dallas in my younger days I have gained knowledge of from my parents and my grandparents who had lived in Dallas for most of their lives.
From Oak Cliff to Forest Park. From Pleasant Grove to Little Cicero (known today as West Dallas). I have traveled them all..ate in their diners, drank beer in their bars making it all part of what living in Dallas was all about.
It’s this background and experience that allows me to offer you insight into All-Things-Dallas.
One thing is for certain, Dallas has changed and it has changed very quickly. There is a history of Dallas newbies have not yet learned. There is much more to Dallas than what the Chamber of Commerce reports and there are people, places and things in Dallas that made Dallas what it is today. I hope to be your guide through what Dallas really is…my Hometown
I will be reporting on what is happening around Dallas today that Dallasites enjoy doing and tell stories that shed light on how Dallas was before there was a Interstate 635…LBJ Freeway…the “3rd Loop”. Of course, I’ll also take you back to days when Frisco, Texas was fondly known as a Dove Hunter’s Paradise.
I’m very proud of being a 5th generation Texan and native Dallasite. I’m very excited to share my knowledge of Dallas with you.
So, saddle up…let me show you my Hometown.
