Jeff Foxworthy became world famous for his You Must Be a Redneck skits. Recently there was graphic going around Pinterest about Jeff doing a skit on how you can tell if you are Living In Texas that actually gave a very respectable and humorous view of the values us native Texans have developed over a few hundred years.
Not that I want to be world famous, or even locally famous, but here is my take on what Mr Foxworthy may say if he was to do a skit on… You Must Be Living In Dallas.
Mr Foxworthy claims that if you go to a Lowe’s store and someone offers you assistance and they don’t work there, you maybe living in Texas. I would have to agree, but if that person not only assistances you but tells you where you can go to get the same item at a better deal, then you must be Living in Dallas.
Again, Jeff tells us, If you measure driving distances in hours, you may live in Texas. That is so very true, but if someone breaks down into the minutes how long it takes to get anywhere based on doing at least 80MPH then they Must be Living in Dallas.
Of course there are those things Foxworthy might not know since he doesn’t live in Dallas, but if you ask someone the fastest route anywhere in Dallas and they give you a route they claim avoids the most potholes then they must live in Dallas.
But, the true test of determining if someone lives in Dallas comes when they are not in Dallas. If you get into a conversation with someone in New York city about the Kennedy assassination and the person can list the top 5 JFK assassination conspiracy theories in chronological order then they Must live in Dallas.
Finally…if you are here reading these jokes and , more importantly, understand them, then you must Live in Dallas. Of course, for me, if I ask someone where I can go to get the best hamburger and cold beer and they do not hesitate to say to get the #5 and a longneck Miller Lite at Keller Drive In, then they most definitely Live in Dallas.
